Enrolment process for years 8 to 12 (or mid-year entry year 7)
Mount Barker High School welcomes enrolment enquiries at any time throughout the year. We understand that choosing the right school is an important decision, and we are here to support families through the process.
As a next step, we encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our programs and opportunities, book a school tour to experience our facilities and complete the registration of interest to enrol form.

Your path to Mount Barker High School
Placement offers are subject to availability at each year level. While we do our best to accommodate all enquiries, some year levels may have limited capacity, so we encourage families to get in touch early.
To register your interest in enrolling your child, please complete our registration of interest form. Once submitted, our enrolment officer will contact you to discuss your enquiry, provide further information, and guide you through the next steps in the enrolment process.
ENROLMENT ENQUIRIES
Year 7 transition to high school
The Department for Education manages the enrolment process for starting year 7. Students in year 6 in government primary schools are automatically issued with a ‘starting secondary school’ application pack from their primary school in April/May of year 6.
Those attending a non-government school need to request an application pack (including the ‘registration of interest for placement in year 7’ form) by emailing Education.StartingSecondarySchool@sa.gov.au

Disability Unit and Special Options enrolments
The Mount Barker District Education Office manages the enrolment of students with disabilities in the Harold Mitchell Inclusive Education Centre. For assistance or to discuss eligibility, please contact the office on 08 8391 4705.

Required documents
Documentation required once enrolment is approved:
Proof of residence (one of the following)
- Current utility bill in your name showing your residential address
- Recent council rates notice
- Rental agreement or a copy of your contract of sale when you purchased the property
Proof of identity (one of the following)
- Your child’s birth certificate
- Your child’s passport
Proof of visa details (for non-Australian citizens)
- Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) printout,
- or a Department of Home Affairs visa grant letter
Court orders
- Copies of any court, custody or intervention orders
